Leadership
I work on what happens between policy decisions and real-world delivery, with a focus on public systems in the Middle East and the UK. My interest is in how institutions that are meant to protect people actually function under pressure, and how to unblock them.
Having grown up in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and the UK, and having gone through the UK care system myself, I look at policy from the perspective of the people who depend on it. That experience underpins my current work in digital transformation in high-pressure frontline services in London, and my work on economic and governance challenges in Palestine and the wider region.
Graduated with a BA in Philosophy, Politics and Economics at St John’s College, University of Oxford, and have worked with organisations including The Portland Trust, the Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP), the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change and the UK Ministry of Defence’s Development, Concepts and Doctrine Centre (DCDC). My research and advisory work has covered youth entrepreneurship and economic policy in Palestine, regional security and governance, and project mapping around Palestinian economic reconstruction. I have carried out fieldwork across Israel and the occupied Palestinian territories, engaging government officials, civil society and international partners.
Alongside this, I design and implement practical digital tools for public services: from AI-enabled learning and ethical AI in education, to management dashboards and data-driven service redesign in government and organisations. The common thread is using technology to improve how systems perform, rather than adding another layer of complexity.
I have been active in UK politics and student leadership, including running for National Chair of Labour Students, and I am part of Chatham House’s Common Futures Conversations network. Across these roles, I focus on connecting policy, technology and on-the-ground reality so that decisions made in conference rooms translate into concrete improvements for people living with fragility, conflict or bureaucratic failure.
